Accreditations and Approvals


Bryant & Stratton College is an accredited institution and a member of the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) www.msche.org.  Bryant & Stratton College’s accreditation status is Accreditation Reaffirmed.  The Commission’s most recent action on the instiuttion’s accreditation status on June 22, 2017 was to reaffirm accreditation.  MSCHE is an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).

The academic programs at all Bryant & Stratton College campuses are approved or certified and registered by their respective State Education Departments:

Bryant & Stratton College is an institutional member of the council for the State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA). In New York State, Bryant & Stratton College campuses are authorized by the New York State Board of Regents to confer Associate of Occupational Studies and Associate of Applied Science degrees. The Amherst, Buffalo and Southtowns campuses are authorized by the New York State Board of Regents to confer the Bachelor of Business Administration degree. The Southtowns, Albany, Greece, and Syracuse North campuses are authorized by the New York State Board of Regents to confer the Bachelor of Science degree.

All Ohio campuses are authorized by the state of Ohio to confer associate and baccalaureate degrees. These degrees are also approved by the Ohio Board of Regents.

Medical Assisting Associate Degree Program

The Medical Assisting programs offered at Amherst, Akron, Bayshore, Buffalo, Solon, Greece, Hampton, Henrietta, Racine, Parma, Richmond, Southtowns, Syracuse, Syracuse North, Virginia Beach and Wauwatosa are accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (www.caahep.org), on recommendation of the Medical Assisting Education Review Board (MAERB).

Associate Degree Nursing Program

The ADN Nursing program is offered at the Akron, Solon, Parma, Richmond, Virginia Beach, Hampton, Henrietta, Wauwatosa, Bayshore and Racine campuses. The ADN programs at Akron, Solon, Parma, Richmond, Virginia Beach, Hampton, Wauwatosa, Bayshore and Racine campuses are accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).  The Henrietta campus is a candidate for initial accreditation by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).

The Bryant & Stratton College Associate Degree in Nursing is offered at the Henrietta, NY campus.  The Nursing Program is registered/accredited by the Office of College and University Evaluation New York State Education Department.  The Ohio Board of Nursing views Akron as a stand-alone program and the Solon and Parma campuses are viewed as one program.  The Akron associate degree nursing program has full approval by the Ohio Board of Nursing.  The Solon/Parma associate degree nursing program has provisional approval by the Ohio Board of Nursing.  The Virginia Board of Nursing views Hampton, Richmond and Virginia Beach campuses as stand-alone programs.  The Hampton associate degree nursing program has full approval from the Virginia Board of Nursing.  The Richmond Campus associate degree nursing program has full approval from the Virginia Board of Nursing.  The Virginia Beach Campus associate degree nursing program has full approval from the Virginia Board of Nursing.  The Wauwatosa, Bayshore and Racine campuses are viewed as one program and are approved by the Wisconsin Board of Nursing.

BSN Program

Occupational Therapy Assistant Associate Degree Program

The occupational therapy assistant programs at Rochester, Syracuse, Solon, and Wauwatosa are accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA). Graduates of the Rochester, Syracuse, and Wauwatosa programs will be eligible to sit for the national certification examination for the occupational therapy assistant administered by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).

After successful completion of this exam, the individual will be a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA). In addition, all states require licensure in order to practice; however, state licenses are usually based on the results of the NBCOT Certification Examination. Note that a felony conviction may affect a graduate’s ability to sit for the NBCOT certification examination or attain state licensure.
