HTHS301 - Health Services Management ISemester Credit Hour(s) 3 This course provides an overview of global health care systems and a review of the theoretical, conceptual foundations, and practices of health services management. The manager’s role in planning, organizing, staffing, directing, and monitoring are introduced and discussed. Approaches to managing major functional areas of the health care organization are reviewed including communication, human resources, financing and budgeting, and legal/regulatory. Students will understand governance in an organization and learn about best practices for quality and ethical management and the importance of monitoring influences in the external environment.
