NURS231 - Concepts Basic to NursingSemester Credit Hour(s) 5 This theory and practicum course introduces the student to foundational concepts and techniques for the roles of provider of care, member of the profession, and manager/coordinator of care for patients with primary, acute, and restorative care needs. The student will apply knowledge from the sciences and liberal arts as they use the nursing process and evidence based activities and rationales to provide care. Emphasis will be placed on critical thinking and decision-making in both the theoretical and clinical components of the course. Communication, informatics, and working with the interdisciplinary team will be emphasized.
