The Bachelor of Science in Electronic Engineering Technology program prepares students for advanced industrial work in a variety of electronics fields.  Computer solutions in electronics applications are emphasized through extensive hands-on training and exercises with current industrial software and hardware tools.  Students receive focused tutoring in small groups on embedded software and hardware applications, industrial and power electronics, Programmable Logic Devices as well as use of simulation tools.  Training also is provided in the related electronics fields of Automatic Control and Quality Control.

Graduates will be prepared with advanced technical skills for potential employment in a variety of capacities in military, industrial, mechanical and commercial environments.  Positions include, but are not limited to, role in sustaining engineering, field and application engineering, production quality control, test engineering and customer support.

Graduates of this degree plan will achieve the following program and institutional outcomes:

  • Identify, formulate and solve problems using advanced engineering principles, methodologies and tools.
  • Design, implement, validate and deploy a component, device, system or process to meet desired needs within realistic constraints.
  • Use techniques, skills, modern engineering tools and processes necessary for engineering practice in various realistic applications.
  • Utilize appropriate current technology and resources to locate and evaluate information needed to accomplish a goal, and then communicate findings in visual, written and/or oral formats.
  • Transfer knowledge, skills and behaviors acquired through formal and informal learning and life experiences to new situations.
  • Employ strategies for reflection on learning and practice in order to adjust learning processes for continual improvement.
  • Follow established methods of inquiry and mathematical reasoning to form conclusions and make decisions.
  • Participate in social, learning and professional communities for individual growth and to function as a citizen of a multicultural world.
