Accreditations and Approvals


Bryant & Stratton College is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education 3624 Market Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104, (267) 284-5000. www.msche.org. The Middle States Commission on Higher Education is an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.

The academic programs at all Bryant & Stratton College campuses are approved or certified and registered by their respective State Education Departments:

  • Ohio Department of Higher Education
  • Ohio Board of Nursing
  • State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV)
  • State of Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services- Education Approval Program

Bryant & Stratton College is an institutional member of the council for the State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA). See www.NC-SARA.org/states/NY.  Bryant & Stratton College is registered with the California Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education as an out-of-state institution providing distance education to California residents.

In New York State, Bryant & Stratton College campuses are authorized by the New York State Board of Regents to confer Associate of Occupational Studies and Associate of Applied Science degrees. The Amherst, Buffalo and Southtowns campuses are authorized by the New York State Board of Regents to confer the Bachelor of Business Administration degree. The Southtowns, Albany, Greece, and Syracuse North campuses are authorized by the New York State Board of Regents to confer the Bachelor of Science degree.

All four Ohio campuses are authorized by the state of Ohio to confer associate and baccalaureate degrees. These degrees are also approved by the Ohio Board of Regents.

Medical Assisting Associate Degree Program

The Medical Assisting programs offered at Albany, Amherst, Akron, Bayshore, Buffalo, Cleveland Downtown, Solon, Greece, Hampton, Henrietta, Racine, Parma, Richmond, Southtowns, Syracuse, Syracuse North, Virginia Beach and Wauwatosa are accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (www.caahep.org), on recommendation of the Medical Assisting Education Review Board (MAERB).

Associate Degree Nursing Program

The ADN Nursing program is offered at the Akron, Solon, Parma, Richmond, Virginia Beach, Hampton, Wauwatosa and Bayshore campuses. The ADN programs at Akron, Solon, Parma, Richmond, Virginia Beach, Hampton, Wauwatosa and Bayshore campuses are accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).  

The Ohio Board of Nursing views Akron as a stand-alone program and the Solon and Parma campuses are viewed as one program. The Akron and Solon/Parma associate degree nursing programs have provisional approval by the Ohio Board of Nursing. The Virginia Board of Nursing views Hampton, Richmond and Virginia Beach campuses as stand-alone programs. The Hampton and VA Beach associate degree nursing program have initial approval from the Virginia Board of Nursing. The Richmond associate degree nursing program has approval from the Virginia Board of Nursing. The Wauwatosa and Bayshore campuses are viewed as one program and are approved by the Wisconsin Board of Nursing.

Licensed Practical Nurse Diploma Program

Bryant & Stratton College practical nursing diploma programs are located in Akron and Parma, OH, Richmond, VA, Wauwatosa, Bayshore, and Racine, WI. The licensed practical nurse diploma program offered at the Richmond campus has initial approval by the Virginia Board of Nursing. The licensed practical nurse diploma program offered at the Akron and Parma campuses have full approval by the Ohio Board of Nursing. The licensed practical nurse diploma program offered at the Wauwatosa, Bayshore, and Racine, WI are approved by the Wisconsin Board of Nursing.  

The practical nursing program located at Wauwatosa, Bayshore, and Racine, WI is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).  

The practical nursing program located at Akron, Ohio is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).

RN to BSN Degree Program

The Bryant & Stratton College RN-BSN program is offered at Parma OH, Richmond, VA, Wauwatosa and Bayshore, WI campuses and the Online Education Division located in Orchard Park, NY. The RN-BSN degree programs at Parma OH, Richmond, VA, Wauwatosa and Bayshore, WI campuses and the Online Education Division located in Orchard Park, NY are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), 655 K Street NW, Washington, DC 20001, (202) 887-6791. www.ccneaccreditation.org

BSN Program

The Bryant & Stratton College baccalaureate degree in nursing offered at the Parma, OH, Wauwatosa, Racine and Bayshore, WI campuses are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), 655 K Street NW, Washington, DC 20001. (202) 887-6791. www.ccneaccreditation.org. The nursing generalist bachelor’s program in Parma has approval from the Ohio Board of Nursing. The nursing generalist bachelor’s program in Bayshore, Racine, and Wauwatosa has approval from the Wisconsin Board of Nursing.  

Occupational Therapy Assistant Associate Degree Program

The occupational therapy assistant programs at Rochester, Syracuse, Solon, and Wauwatosa are accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA). Graduates of the Rochester, Syracuse, and Wauwatosa programs will be eligible to sit for the national certification examination for the occupational therapy assistant administered by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).

After successful completion of this exam, the individual will be a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA). In addition, all states require licensure in order to practice; however, state licenses are usually based on the results of the NBCOT Certification Examination. Note that a felony conviction may affect a graduate’s ability to sit for the NBCOT certification examination or attain state licensure.

Physical Therapist Assistant Associate Degree Program

Certain state certification and licensure boards may have specific educational requirements for programs to lead to a license or non-governmental certification that is a precondition for employment in a recognized occupation.  Unless otherwise specified, Bryant & Stratton College’s programs are not designed to meet any specific state’s licensure or certification requirements.  If certain licensed occupations, vocations, or professions are not explicitly listed as above, Bryant & Stratton College has not made a determination with respect to the licensure or certification requirements of those occupations, vocations or professions.  Licensure-track programs may limit enrollment to students in certain states.  You are responsible for understanding the requirements of licensure or certification procedures specific for your desired career path.  Such requirements may change during the course of your education.  You are not automatically certified in any way upon program completion.  Although certain programs are designed to prepare you to take various optional certification exams, Bryant & Stratton College cannot guarantee you will be eligible to take these exams or become certified.  Your eligibility may depend on your work experience, completion of education and/or degree requirements, not having a criminal record, meeting other certification requirements, or the program or the College having appropriate accreditation or licensure.
